Use todays discussions, readings from class, and readings emailed to you to answer respond to the following blog posting.
Interactive whiteboards (SMART or Promethean) promote more hands on, active learning type activities for teachers to use in the classroom. The ability to manipulate the computer from the board untethers the teacher from his or her computer to focus on students, to capture text or record a presentation for students to access for remediation or support. In your previous blogs, you all wrote about technology professional development and obstacles to technology integration, how might these two technologies be used to support effective professional development for teachers? Also, describe 5 lesson ideas integrating interactive whiteboards in your classroom. In your lesson discussions, describe how the use of this technology increases the effectiveness of the lesson versus not using the technologies.

Active Learning and Technology
Hi Everyone,
Next week, you'll be working collaboratively to complete your video project assignments. You'll also be expected to read the following article on Active Learning and Technology for your blog assignment.
Your blog 2 assignment is to read the article, Designing Change, and reflect on the 21st century technology we've been discussing, along with blogs, wikis and ideas you presented in your video project. The article discusses how difficult change can be for many teachers and provides some ideas. Over the next two years, you'll be changing and growing on your technology skills, integration skills, and overall effectiveness as a teacher. How can you help others in your school or your district adopt new ideas, technologies, and instructional strategies for greater collaboration and technology integration?
Blog posting is due May 15th.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Randy
